When installing new tires, What do you use to seat the bead on the rim? Inner tube, bead seater, etc? Is a bead seater worth buying vs inner tubes for new tires?

Do you have a Discount tire close to you? I had a set that where smashed flat from shipping, and they where able to get them aired up. I tried for 2 days, and couldnt get them to seal. If they are not to bad the ratchet strap idea mentioned will work, or the old school way spray some carb cleaner around the bead, and light it.
Yea, Thats what happened last year I replaced 2 fronts on cub cadet. I took them to a tire shop and they used a bead seater to get them to take air. The sales rep at tire shop I was better off using inner tubes because the tire would last longer with inner tube.

I prefer the old school way. Just make sure you get back really quick. Lol
on small tires I use rope with a slip knot, tire bead sealant, larger tires I use a ratchet strap and bead sealant,i would never use a toolux air seater, that thing looks dangerous,
Just this afternoon, I went to a tire shop to have a new tire mounted on the rim or my Dixie Chopper. When the guy finally got the tire onto the rim, there was a three-inch gap between the side wall and the rim. The other guy grabbed one of those seating tools. I'd never seen one of them used before, and was startled when he opened the valve and the air blasted out. It didn't work the first time, but did the second time. I agree, it did look dangerous!
