Hustler Barn Find

With all fuses, key, deck clutch & relays disconnected, I have a slight electrical short - suggestions welcome.
Mice chewing wires. Fondle the entire harness feeling for bare or broken spots. Then continuity test from start to finish and across any and all connectors.
Starter motor not working - seem likely that the solenoid is the problem.
Use a jump box AFTER the solenoid. If she cranks it will CONFORM the solenoid is bad. All the electrical heavy lifting is done by the solenoid. Should be mandatory, if you replace a starter replace the solenoid.
Should I purchase an OM starter or an Asian copy??
Asian meaning Japan or the motherland China? If you want it to work get OEM. See if DB Electric has one for your machine.

Thanks Slomo,

All done - confirmed starter solenoid RS. New Starter/Solenoid assembly ordered.

Dont know where "DB Electric" is located - I am in NSW, Australia

"Fuel injectors are blue. Wondering if this may give a clue as to the hp???"

The above was the main question - still just guessing as to which Kohola engine I have.

Also - Where would I find a wiring diagram for the fuel injected engine?

I have contacted both Hustler & EPG/Rehico/Kohler engines Australia for help in identifying mower & engine - yet to see if they are up to it.

Are there no external features, which distinguish one fuel injected Kohler V -Twin from another?

I have read that the Bosh injectors have the part numbers etched into their side. If this is correct I may be able to find the PN. If so, did diffrent engine HP's have diffrent injectors?

Do the diffrent HP engines use diffrent ECU's?
