Pretty sure this is GCV-160 engine(cant find other labels) but looks like others I see. Engine has the brake assembly.

Flywheel says ZMO also has a logo that looks like TEC
Part number says 003789
Is there supposed to be a magnet on two sides? One side is strong. Nothing on other unless it is just counterweight.

Engine had spark but would not start. Suspected sheared flywheel key so pulled the flywheel, but it is good.

Thanks

Most likely just counterweight. Wouldn't run with spark every half revolution.

Think about it
If you are talking about the magneto magnets on the outside of the flywheel.
Every time the magnet passes the coil you should get a spark
So if they are on opposite sides of the engine, one will happen near top dead center & the other would happen at bottom dead centre
Why would you want a spark to happen when the inlet or exhaust valves were open ?

If you take the magnets out and the non magnets out you should find they are the same weights

What is the engraved serial? Also there will other numbers and letters in the same area on the crankcase. From there a correct model and spec can be found.

And other said the flywheel will have magnets one side only with a counter weight on the opposite side.
