Honda HRX2173HYA Left Rear Wheel Locks When Turning Left or Backing Up

Put it back on the table and take both wheels off, look at one side at a time. You will need some snap ring pliers. That little pinion gear should rotate
one way with a little click, but not the other. Anyway remove it and clean everything, soak it in gas or whatever, look for wear, reinstall with a smear of grease, the gear should rotate freely in one direction with a snappy click. Lock in the other direction.....

Do one side at a time so not to mix up gears....

Thanks for everyone's help. It ended up that the little gear that is supposed to click one-way was re-installed wrong by the previous owner. So, when I disassembled it, I put it back the same way. With everyone's advice and Roberts schematic and Fish's last post, I decided to take one more look at it and found the problem. Mower works great! THANKS!
