Honda GCV160A0 MU4 R280 only starts with starter fluid

Hi All,

New member here trying to fix my Honda Mower (Model/Serial Above)

It will start immediately with starter fluid. I only did it two times as I don't want to damage anything.

Fuel Line is fine (stop cock stops flow and Starts flow)

Bowl seems clean (it is the cone shaped bowl)

Float seems fine as it closes and opens when up and down

Removed Carb and thoroughly cleaned it as best I could.

Same problem when I replaced it.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

99.999999% of the time this happens it is because the choke is not closing fully.
On a manual one it will be due to either stretch of the inner or the outer slipping under the retaining clip.
Fix is either a new cable or adjusting the old one a little shorter.
Double check that you have not moved the cable too far back because at the other end of it travel it has to trip the kill switch.
If you can not adjust it so the choke closes fully in the start position & the kill switch is activated in t off position then it is new cable time.
