99.999999% of the time this happens it is because the choke is not closing fully.
On a manual one it will be due to either stretch of the inner or the outer slipping under the retaining clip.
Fix is either a new cable or adjusting the old one a little shorter.
Double check that you have not moved the cable too far back because at the other end of it travel it has to trip the kill switch.
If you can not adjust it so the choke closes fully in the start position & the kill switch is activated in t off position then it is new cable time.
