Hello,

I have a Honda push mower with the GCV160 Auto choke engine. When its a cold start it starts 1-2 pulls. I mow for a few minutes. Then I stop to empty the bag and cannot get it to start again until the engine cools. Also I can get it to start when warm if I have someone hold the governor arm open in which case it will start but very rough at 1st. This happens every time. Does anyone have any ideas what it could be?

Thanks

dirty carb
Remove the carb and the debris bowl under the fuel tap and the fuel tap itself.
They all collect crud and make it hard for the fuel to flow.
Clean out the float bowl and remove the main jet & spray tube.
make sure all the small holes are open.

If the bowl is rusty on the inside, replace it as they are zinc plated so will continue to rust and cause you grief,
