:welcome: to LMF!
What type do you want (self-propelled walk behind; lawn tractor; ZTR). I am assuming you want a smaller mower (a walk-behind), since your profile says BLACK AND DECKER. I would suggest a Honda or Toro. The Honda HRR series is pretty good, but if you want a really good mower, I would highly suggest the Honda HRX series. I love mine and I use it commercially! The HRR series comes with the Smart Drive, and the HRX has one model with it.
Also, Toro's are nice mowers. They seem to stripe really nice! They have the personal pace drive system. In our neighborhood, most people have a Toro or a Honda. It is around 50-50.
There are other good brands, but those are probably the best (in my opinion).
Good luck with your search and feel free to ask any questions you might have.

Honda HRR:
FYI, I agree with the LawnmowerFanatic, but have one thing to add. If something goes wrong with the tranny on either unit, a big difference in repair cost. Toro tranny can be rebuilt, Honda tranny must be replaced.
I agree. They are good, too. I used one for a little bit and would have loved it if the blades were not as dull as could be!

How much money are you willing to spend is my first question? Here in the USA they start at about $150 and go up from there. It really depends on the size of your yard and what features you want on your mower besides what you are willing to spend. The Honda and the Toro, which are good quality mowers, run roughly from $300 to over $1000 for their walk behind models. :2cents::biggrin:

I would suggest spending a little more money and getting something from a dealer, not Home Depot or Lowes. If you have a problem, the dealer can fix it, Lowes/Home Depot will pretty much say "Good luck with that!".
As I said before this is what I think would be best for you. The specific models will depend on the size of your yard: Honda: (http://powerequipment.honda.com/)Toro: (http://www.toro.com/en-us/homeowner/pages/default.aspx);Snapper: (http://www.snapper.com/push-mowers/); Then any brand like Lawnboy, Husqvarna, Troy-Bilt, etc.
