Just found this forum today while searching for a solution to a problem with my 5 year old new to me Yardman-MTD with a Honda GVC 160cc engine. I will use this push mower for trimming where the rider will not go into the tight spots
I also have the rider, a John Deere 717A Ztrak with a 48" deck for the rest of the yard.

Hi Shadey. A guy's got to have 3..possibly 4 machines to do the yard. Rider, push, weed eater, blower. I've got 2 out of 3 so far. I bought an old MTD 42" cut with a 12HP single B&S engine very cheap at an estate auction couple of weekends back. Everyone thought the engine was locked up but it was an odd lever beside the deck height big lever that was the culprit. When we moved it, the engine suddenly freed up. I drained the old gas out of the carb and it fired up. Welcome to the LMF! I'm in E. TN near Knoxville.
