Hey just wanted to update everyone it was the pushrod jumped out of place lol took me about 5 minutes to fix and readjust the valve now it runs better than I can remember in a long time thanks for your input and help

Make a point to keep the valve adjusted every season and keep your oil changed.

it was the pushrod jumped out of place lol took me about 5 minutes to fix
On my Kawasaki engine I had the lower finger 'disappear' on my pushrod guide plate causing a random clank because the pushrod/rocker arm was lower and hitting the valve cover.

I'm not sure if Briggs is setup the same way, but I wanted to throw it out there...

Sounds like one of the valve guides are backing out of the head or valve seat is loose. Do compression test, should have 120psi or better.

Check vave clearance, but I suspect it is the mag. My son was cutting the lawn and shut it off to move some planters, and it wouldn't start. ended up replacing the mag and the soaked sparkplugs, and oil. I was smoking a bit before it wouldn't start so I suspect it may have dropped a cylinder and dumped fuel in the gas.
