And we can't always depend on the OEM either if we get an inexperienced support person. Sometimes they put the part(s) on a totally unrelated page or as IL said leave complete pages out of the published IPL docs. This is why we ask for as much info as we can get from the person that is asking for help as we also have to research things ourselves to in order to provide accurate info and not to just to throw something out and hope it will stick to the wall.

This where experience field personal that has worked on this equipment is invaluable. One problem I see is the up coming group of techs are being not fully trained as repair persons but as part replacers.

And doesn't help when the OEM refuses to release the info of their equipment. Mostly being afraid someone will copy their designs. Personally I just want make the needed repairs without having guess at what parts or how the wiring was done. A lot of us in the field have to spend a lot extra time just figuring out things that should be easily come by.

Like Star said. The OEM's won't supply even their dealer techs with needed info sometimes. MTD has been known to have incorrect part numbers listed on the diagrams, and I have even seen part numbers that are showing NLA on products for the current model year. And they don't ever go back and fix the mistakes. So the diagrams will be incorrect in the future for everybody else. MTD doesn't supply wiring diagrams to dealers, and I am not even sure they have them to supply if they wanted to. And I don't think MTD has updated what service manuals they do have since 2014. A few years ago MTD made a running change to the deck drive system on certain riders. The only place you could get the updated parts diagram was an addendum that was stapled to the owners manual that was supplied with the mower at the time of purchase.. It wasn't available online and was not included in the diagrams even on the dealer parts site, and still may not be.

Brute Power by briggs products manufactured by Ardisam/Earthquake have incorrect parts diagrams in the owners manuals and website. In most cases it is the correct model but the diagram is for a different serial number range, which you would never know until you receive the incorrect part.

And don't even get me started on parts having to be drop shipped from the OEM. MTD will drop ship parts for their products if needed. They will only drop ship UPS next day. air Now think about what it cost to do a next day air with UPS, but don't actually ship the part for 14 days.. So UPS next day air in 14 days. Needed a Briggs twin cylinder engine shipped from an alternate warehouse which is any warehouse in the Briggs system other than my assigned warehouse. So my normal warehouse for Briggs parts and engines is in Iowa. I needed to have an engine shipped from NY, and all twin cylinder engines due to weight ship LTL. Freight for that engine was $284

IL you might to save this list of parts for the Ready Start system. I manage to get the PNs for both the Nikki and Ruixing carb choke shafts and visually compared them.

593039 Choke Lever
593040 Screw, Choke Lever
593037 Solenoid, Choke
593041 Screw, Solenoid
593042 Screw, Solenoid
593043 Choke Link
593056 Snap Switch
594384 Screw, Snap Switch Mounting Bracket
698778 Choke Shaft Kit, Nikki Carb
594862 Choke Shaft Kit, Ruixing Carb

A work in progress as I got to wait until I get the next one these system comes into my shop for visual inspection of the mounting areas to see if there anything that needs adding to the list.

697887 doesn't appear to be a valid number possibly 698778

Okay I have completed most of my research and the creation of an internal PDF document. it includes all the above items along with terminals, terminal housings, and intake manifolds part numbers. I have made this document available on my home forum for members there.

It appears that this ready start system was only use on the Briggs 21, 31, and 33 vertical series based on the choke lever part number.
