Yardworks mower, speed selector

Rich,
Start a new thread
We don't know what mower the 20Hp engine is in.
So make, model number and full description of the problem.
Remember we can not see ,hear, smell or feel your mower running.
In real life we use all of these senses to make a diagnosis.

The model is OV691EA, & the make is yardworks. The speed select does not engage till you put it in #4 and when you put it in 6 the clutch, brake pedal is bouncing like crazy. I haven't looked under the machine but from what I have read it is the same set up as a MTD with the 2 pulley variable speed set up? If that is the case, the belt is warn and I need to change it?This mower has the 20hp Tecumseh motor, I had trouble with the carbs and it was the head gasket as well as the carbs. Can someone tell me if my assumption is right.

A pulsing pedal will be due to a damaged belt or something stuck in one of the pulleys.
