The old 07, 08, 09 saws are low RPM torque saws compared to today's high RPM saws. Those things were made for big wood with long bars. That saw to the right collector is worth quite a bit. Most folks don't cut big wood and a 660 or 880 type saw will do the job so these are donosaurs now. If you need parts and are looking here is where you can find AM parts.

OEM parts are scarce and expensive as collectors want them for restorations. Are the farmertec parts as good as stihl? No but they are for the most part functional. I have built a few of the saw kits for fun and they are holding up well. There are guys building the 07 kits for milling and say they hold up. I would mix it at 40:1 myself but i am a bit coservative. If you get it running don't expect to tune it like a modern saw running12500 RPM. It will be slower. It is a torque saw so it will tune best with just a bit of 4 stroking at WOT with no load. These saws are hard on clutches with lots of torque at a lower RPM. Keep the clutch shoes and drum clean and free from bar oil. You can burn a clutch and drum up in these quickly if slipping.
