I have been running around with this same thought on the same mowers for several months. Sold an older hustler fastrak 44" and now mowerless. Looking to get something but it doesnt have to be now, just before next spring. I have roughly 2 acres of grass that is celebration bermuda and some sunsport bermuda in the backyard.

The OP brought up the pro turn 52 which is what I am looking at along with the mzt-52. Those 2 are in my price range and are along what I think I need. The 152 is a bit out of my price range. The problem is I do not really like the air filter on the pro turn 52 on the kawa FS. It looks cheap and I am worried about how it will hold up. I am in SC and we have some pretty dusty conditions (crush and run driveway) The mzt-52 has a briggs, but what appears to be a better filter to me.

The gravely has a couple of +'s in its bag such as 10 vs 11 gauge metal on the deck etc

I can get either mower for roughly the same price. Actually a slight bit cheaper on the pro turn 52 from a local dealer. Out of those 2, what are yalls thoughts?

I have also thought about the kubota kommander and the hustler fastrak super duty (probably out of my range as well)

All of the mowers you are considering are good quality ZTR's!! I hear ya about the filtration as the Donaldson dual stage cannister filteration system on my Pro-Turn 152's KAWA FX series was one of the reasons I leaned towards commercial duty versus heavy duty residential. But bottom line is whether you are able to push your budget to get into the Gravely 100XDZ or Hustler Fastrak SD to get the Kawa FX and other commercial-grade component upgrades. I have only good things to say about the Husqvarna M-ZT 52 which is basically a cross between a Dixon Ultra high-end residential series and DX100 entry-level commercial series. The Kommander is proving to be a worthy consideration in high-end residential units as well. I really don't think you could go wrong with any of them, but if you should happen to hit the lottery, I'd say go for the Gravely 152.....it's worth every penny!!! I've added a mulch kit and just recently a hex striper kit and can't wait until the next mowing season!!!!!

What ever You guys decide on for a New ZTR, Be sure it has a Canister Filter, That is the Life of a Motor, my old JD LT 445 had the regular type filter and it was up front, still had to stay on top of it, With the ZTR mowers the air cleaner is in the rear, MORE DUST, back in June I bought a Toro 52 in. 3000 series, it has the Canister Filter, I now have 57 hours on the mower, Checked the filter the other day, still clean, the way they are built, they dump the dust out as it collects, where I live it is very sandy soil & Very dusty when its dry, Just Do Your SEJF A FLAVOR >< Be SURE & GET THE CANISTER FILTER on what every Mower you Pick
