Grasshopper 725D will not shut off when I put the key in the off position. Suspect a fuel solenoid but was hoping for some input and suggestions. Thanks in advance for any help

Hi again KennyS.
There are a couple things that will cause that particular problem...
most common ...
There is a shut off solenoid at the fuel rack... it is not uncommon for the fuse to blow that feeds that solenoid, if the fuse is okay you may have fixed the problem just by removing & reinserting it. (they will build a little corrosion causing reducing the current).
I can't recall where that particular fuse is located, but if you follow the wiring from the solenoid back you will run into it, it is an inline fuse....

Please define "will not shut off". Do you mean continues to run, or takes a long time to stop? If it continues to run you will have a loose wire that kills the coil. If it takes a long time to stop running then you are on the right path with the solenoid on the fuel bowl.
No ignition 'coil', No fuel bowl.... This is a Diesel engine & uses a fuel shut off solenoid at the injector pump to "kill" the engine... :smile:KennyV
The ground is through the metal mounting bracket, 12 volts is Only applied for around 10 seconds AFTER the Key is turned to Off. It gets this 12 volts from a "combination box"... If you are not getting a Timed 12 volts After the key is turned Off, there is a problem at the timer box.
(You can accomplish this manually) If you place a fused momentary push button switch to supply the 12 volts, when you want to kill the engine, it will accomplish what the timer box is doing... BUT you will have to Remember to Turn Off the Key also.... :smile:KennyV

Thanks, will check the timer box to see if it is working. I will keep you posted on the progress.
