What is a good entry-level ZTR mower, since I only have a small lawn care business. I don't want to spend more than a couple grand. Troy-Bilt, Husqvarna, Toro, something else??

I think unless you are willing to buy used you're going to have a hard time finding a ZTR for a couple grand. Even at Home depot the cheapest ztr is going to be the RZT for around 3k out the door.
If all you're wanting to spend is 2k and buy new I'd suggest the 50 in. 24 HP Twin Kohler Courage Hydrostatic Riding Mower-LTX1050 at The Home Depot

The cheapest Z force you can get would run $3799 Lap Bar Control Zero-Turn Riders
or the S model Z Force @ $3499 http://www.cubcadet.com/webapp/wcs/...0051_14101_1565269_1210162_-1_1353415_1210162
