Does anybody else here get one? They have nice stuff but the prices are so high I wouldn't buy anything unless they cut the catalog price in HALF.
My dad got that catalog for YEARS......think he only ordered once.......they never took him off the list. Like you, he loved to look through it. It was our 'throne reading'...the catalog was always on the stand in the bathroom....I personally loved the Troy-bilt ads (yes, one ad i LIKED). We actually sent away once for more info on the Troy-bilt.......Dad wanted the 'horse'. We always had a half-acre garden. He'd work it with his Sears rear-tined tiller (I now know it was a really OOOOLD Simplicity that Sears re-badged), and the chain would jump in the gearbox - and there would be a lot of cussing, hours to disassemble and reassemble, and he'd try it again. Repeat.
I hated it so much back then.....all the weeding, the covering evenings to keep frost off the tender plants, the weeding, the watering when it was dry. The weeding.......Then, all the picking in the late summer......all that picking.......but the weeding was done.
Now, I kinda miss it.
