The new engine is designed to be distributor less unfortunately doesn't look like a cheap conversion
Then the new engine is useless to you as a swap. It probably has hardened seats in the head.

Poke around Access Denied and see if you can find something that will work. You already have a tone ring or a crank sensor setup. The rest isn't that complicated. A multi coil setup is the best. No distributor. If you got all that already, all you need is a driver box with timing
