S 200xt on sale for $6075 but they are about 350 miles away. Briggs commercial turf 27hp.

Do you recommend against that engine. I won't be using the machine commercially. Just mowing my 5 acres.

That is an unbelievable price for a s200xt, but I'm with the others on this one. Not sold on the commercial turf engine. It is supposedly a commercial grade engine and will have a Donaldson air filter, but I wasn't a fan of the intek. For that price it may be worth giving it a shot though. It should mow your 5 acres I two hours or less. My dad can mow 9 in 3.5 hours with his and that's driving it a half mile down the road. I would see if you could get the vanguard or the Kawi for under 7000 before I purchased if it were me.

The units I am looking at are 2013 closeouts. Will this be the mode year the problems were had with the turf engine.

I have not seen or heard of any problems with the commercial turf engine, but the engine hasn't been out very long. The problems were with the intek engines. As was mentioned earlier these engines are claimed to be better. Many people, myself included, are just a little gun shy and don't want to be the ones to try them first. As I mentioned earlier though, you would be getting a lot of mower for that price. Most likely one of the reasons it is priced so low is to get people to try them. Of the mowers on your list it is in the bigger class. I can tell you the rest of the mower is very well made. I bought my mower after trying my dad's. I mow 4.2 acres myself with a 48" s150xt in 2.5 hours and get a great cut. If you can get an s200xt with one of the other engines for anything close to that price then that would be the route I would take. If that's the only one in that range then it would be too hard for me to pass up. Around here the best price I can get for a s200xt is 7500. 8500 for the Kawi or vanguard.

I'm with Shughes on this one. The price is so good I would probably get it...even with the Turf on it. They claim the problems have been fixed so maybe they have. The price is amazing. So amazing I didn't realize we were talking about a 200xt at first. I saw 125xt and 150xt even though you said 200xt lol

If you do pull the trigger on one of those mowers I would go ahead and get the suspension seat. I should have gotten it when I bought mine myself. I will be getting one before next season.

Whoa....timeout....red flag....penalty. Do I hear you right(all of these are "2013"models)???? You realize that means when all the other dealers except this one (or these) sold all of their 2013 on-hand inventory by at least late October, 2013 to early November, 2013 before the new 2014 models come in sometime after Thanksgiving 2013, this handful of preemo ZTR's just didn't happen to sell.

Believe me, I bought my 2012 Gravely in mid-September, 2012(and saved a bunch at the end of the season) and when I went to my dealer on 11/02/2013 to purchase a mulch kit he told me ALL of the 2012's on hand(that's Gravelys, Scags, Cub Cadet and Snapper) had sold, just some hadn't been picked up yet(I asked because I still saw a couple of Scags & Gravelys on the floor). If those Commercial Grade ZTR's you mentioned had not sold by November, 2013(just before the 2014's arrived) I would wonder why the dealers' commercial customers didn't pick them up for just about dealer cost???? Also.....for some strange reason, no one in your area had been able to swing a deal for the last 7-8 months after the 2014's came in???

And you realize, just like cars....when you "drive that ZTR off the lot" it will be 2 Years old(can you spell depreciation)?? I assume they would still have a "New Warranty" but I can't keep from thinking in the back of my mind.......sumpin smells fishy here:0(

So after thinking about it a little more....do you think the OP's getting such a deal on the s200xt because it is a 2013(will be two years old in 4 months or so when the 2015's come in to the dealerships). If I were a dealer I would be "embarrassed" to still have those kind of 2013 ZTR's in stock and were unable to sell them this close to the 2015's arriving!!!

Matters not to me. I just bought a 2012 Ferris is 1500ZXKAW2352 with only 19.1 hours on it. I still have 2 months on the warranty. What a mower!! I paid 4800 for mower and a 12 x 7 trailer.

Yes I do think it's an unbelievable deal. It will still have a new mower warranty and these mowers don't depreciate like a car does. I don't see it as an issue. That's just me though. Not much difference in the 2013 and 2014 models. If anyone can get an s200xt for that price new they should jump on it. My dad's is a 2011 with almost 300 hours and he can get between 5000 and 6000 for his. Mine is a 2012 s150xt and I turned down a 4000 offer.

I remember that. That was an amazing deal as well. As I told you earlier I am jealous of that one. You can turn around and sell the mower alone for at least 5000 and still have the trailer, but if you are like me you didn't buy a mower to sell it in a year or two. I wanted a mower that would last me 20 years. By the way, how do you like the cut of the icd deck pcclipper?

P.s. Your mower and mine are the same. Mine just doesn't have that suspension. You may have the larger deck though.
