I own a 2007 Riding Lawn mower its a 13a1762f729 unit I believe it has a briggs engine .Its same as a Yard machine unit. I tryed to start my riding mower it would turn over, but it wont start .I never had a problem with it. I have checked for wires chewed ok changed the gas blew out Filter .checked the fusse- ok cleaned the carb bowl out clean as a whistle. the only thing I am not sure of is my n-r-f .t won't stay in neutral sloppy. If any one can help a retired vet I need ideas P.s. ITS yard machine

Before the pros arrive to give their advice I would remove the air filter and squirt some carb cleaner into the carb to see if you get a sputter. You could also give a little shot into the spark plug hole, bypassing the carb. If you get a sputter Its most likely a fuel issue. If you get noting, I would check for spark next.

There is usually a reverse switch on the F-N-R lever
If engaged it kills the spark so you can not start or mow in reverse without the MIR switch engaged
IF what Oceans mentiond does not cause the engine to fire, remove the blower housing then remove the kill wires and try again.
No spark = dead coil
Spark = wiring problem

Also if it won't stay in neutral there may be a safety interlock killing your spark.

I would like to thank you ocean for your input .I did what you have advised me to try .And the last thing you advised me to try was the spark. I tested the spark plug and that was ok but not starting I did test the the magginto ignition coil that was defective .after replacing it it started up. Thank You
