Echo ES-2100 Blower and Coil...

Hi,
Gifted this Blower, really dirty, cleaned it bought a new Carb...

Replaced Fuel lines,Sparkplug, and tried to crank and nothing...

Checked Muffler, checked spark, checked compression (120 PSI) pulled Flywheel, key is good, Coil was rusted...

Tested Coil with Vom and numbers run up and down and then settle out.

Wondering if Coil gives a spark on test but not good under compression???

Ordered new coil, only thing I can think it could be?

Due to the way the terminal is attached to high tension lead it is possible for the make contact and lose contact as the lead is moved around. Often it break the center wire at he point of insertion causing this make/break connection. IF the lead is long enough you can trim it back a little and insert the terminal in a new location. Otherwise it is lead replacement.

Thanks, I think the Coil is Toast but does spark when tested?

Well new Coil installed, still won't start!

I have spark, compression, and fuel, timing good...

The only else I can think of is a seal leak.

Will have to tear it down and check for that...

Only thing I can think of at the moment!

Why? The non invasive pressure/vac test should be done first that why you know for sure if you have leakage before you tear down an unit that nothing is wrong with.

Beside if it is a leakage it more likely to be the cylinder gasket where the cylinder screws are loose.

Even with leaky gasket or seals it should still hit with fuel mix induced directly into the cylinder if the ignition is working correctly as you got 120 psi.

Yes, I was going to pressure test.

It will not even pop with fuel in the cylinder through plug hole or carb?

Pulled a known good plug also to test?

Does not make any sense, but...

I will check cylinder bolts for tight, looked for and saw no oil or leakage around crank seal when I removed fly wheel to check the key.

Hi,
Did a Vacuum Test, do not have my Pressure Tester till tomorrow, but...

Vacuum is steady as a rock, I mean no leak down???

Cylinder Screws are tight of course...

Will see tomorrow what the Pressure Test shows but if good like the Vacuum, and I am confused!!!

If I am missing something, do not know what it is?

Then it should be a timing issue...

Wonder if someone replaced the flywheel. Two different one used depending on the serial # break which is at 549733.

Unless you have a Canadian unit then serial number is different.
