Echo 266 feels awkward when using!

I have a new echo 266 weedeater. When using it my arms start kind of cramping up and I feel like it isn't long enough for me...kind of like I am all hunched over to use it.

Do I just need to adjust the handles on it? It looks like I can slide them towards the engine some.
 
with the head sitting 1" above the grass you should be able to hold the machine comfortably, cuttng head level with the ground without bending your back
