Small Engine Warehouse shows 3 in stock for $1999. Then I found the same engine with a Dixie Chopper kit on the same site but it’s $2999. I’m thinking the kit consists of a muffler, pulley and wiring harness. Can’t see the kit being worth $1000. Would there be more to the kit?

Ask them what is in the kit
Muffler is around $ 100 to $ 200 , mounting brackets will be another $ 50 or so pulley is whatever Dixie want for the pulley ( never ordered one )
Loom is a PIA but can be worked around and then there is control cables .
Kawakasi generally use individual choke & Throttle cables
Governor springs should be on the engine .
It is your mower so ultimately all we can do is give advice you have to decide.

OK. Small Engine Warehouse’s fx921v-DC replacement kit does not include the split pulley. They said use the one off the old engine. I don’t have the old pulley but even if I did the old GTV990 had 1 1/4” shaft. The FX921V has 1 1/8” shaft. I don’t understand how I could use the old pulley. I called Dixie Chopper Replacement Parts and they said the pulley recommended with the FX921 replacement (9907500X600D) has a 1”ID. I’m lost on a replacement pulley. Anyone have any ideas?

The FX & FS engines come in both 1" and 1-1/8" crankshafts That is what the S0?? bit is after the FX921V-S??? .
So in that case go looking for an engine with a 1" shaft .
They are a lot cheaper than the 1-1/8" but I have never seen one over 30 Hp with a 1" PTO

Thanks for the help with parts. I’m slowly getting them gathered. Got the FX921V engine 2 days ago and have it setting on the chopper. Waiting for the pulley and muffler. I’m working on deciphering the wiring to make an adapter to go from the Generac to Kawasaki. We’ll see how that goes. Wondering, can I eliminate the pigtail that has the mercury switch, oil sensor, etc. and just make a harness to go between the new motor and the harness where the old pigtail plugged in? Hope I explained that OK.

Yes that is just an extreme tilt cut out so you don't flip the mower on slopes .
Obviously the caveat on this is without it you can drive up unsafe slopes .
So a "less smart" mower needs a "more smart" driver

Thanks. I’ll post back when I’m either finished or need more advice.
