Deer Crossing Signs

Read in the paper this week that our town is going to install deer crossing signs at both ends of town. Just can't see why in the world they want to do that. These are busy roads and they are going to get a lot of deer killed and cars torn up doing that. Looks like the would put them some where that is not as congested and make it a lot easier on everybody especially the deer.

Oh, but deer can't read. However if there is a picture of a deer on the deer crossing sign they may recognize the likenesses of themselves and use it as a Deercrossing. Some Deercrossing signs have words only, which does the deer no good.

Are they just now making them cross there or have they crossed there for awhile but now they are putting up signs to warn people?
