Deck Part number

I have 3 different cubs I picked up yesterday, with 3 different decks that were not connected to either of the mowers. I wasn't sure which was which. Online diagrams showed 3 different decks for the 1042. And of course the stickers for the spindle model numbers were not on any of them.


But by chance, the rod coming out of the front of the 1042 I'm working on, would only fit one deck.

On the earlier models like the plain 1000 , 2000 & 3000 series the decks had either a plate or sticker on them.
Latter on it got dropped as individual models were only supplied with one size deck.

As for spindles , check the year code form the engine because they all use the same spindle
Post 1990 they all use the same deck mounting apart from the front drag links.
