Just replaced the deck drive belt with the writing facing up & the arrows facing toward the deck, the old one was worn out, could not read. Does it matter which way? The inner & outer is installed correctly.
I have replaced the pto belt a few times, the deck drive belt had over 600 hours on it. Thanks, Paul

V Belts can go on any way they are not directional.
Cub uses funny, non standard sized belt widths so be careful with any thing else than genuine parts.
I use Stens OEM fitting belts and still ahve to go at least 1/2" shorter or more with my 2000 series Cub customers.
Excellent machines my customers will never part with them.
Also have a good look at the pulleys.
with 600 hours there is a good chance they will be worn beyond further use.
If the belt can touch the centre of the pulley the pulley is too worn to use.
Contry to popular belief, belts do not stretch, they actually contract when hot.
What happens is they wear on the sides & get thinner so sit deeper in the pully & feel loose as if they had stretched.
Congratulations on 600 too, that must be getting close to a record

600 to 700 hours is how long the drive belt should last.

As long as you routed the belt correctly it does not matter what way the arrows point.

For best. results use a MTD belt on the drive.
On the deck a aftermarket belt works fine.
