Hi everyone, I'm a new member. Thanks for the add.

I have a craftsman edger (#247.772460) with Briggs & Stratton engine #10T802 0711 B1. I am able to start it after putting a new carburetor diaphragm and gasket.

My problem is that it won't stay running and stalls out. I can get it to stay running if I manually move the throttle shaft but as soon as I release it.

The throttle shaft is getting no action from the linkage and does not move when the engine is running even though everything is connected. It only moves if I move it manually.

Any ideas on this? Is this some kind of electrically driven throttle? Is there a throttle adjustment somewhere?

Thanks.

Did you install the pump diaphragm and gasket in the proper order? Plus tighten the screws in the proper sequence? Section 3, page 9 of this manual will help you. http://www.tuks.nl/WFCProject/img/E...210-Briggs-Stratton-Service-Manual-L-Head.pdf

I went confirmed the pump diaphragm are installed the proper order. I am still having the same problem where the throttle is getting no action from the linkage and if I move the throttle the engine stays cranked if not it stalls.

I been searching around and seems that I am missing a spring that connects to the throttle shaft and to a brace the engine. The Briggs and Stratton part # looks to be 698719.

I'm thinking that may be my problem. Anyone have a picture of this spring on this engine #10T802 0711 B1? Thanks.

You might contact Jack's small engine and talk to them to see if they can find you a used one.
