HEY ALL...my wife and I picked up half a dozen corned beef briskets at the store today...got a 4-pounder cooking in the oven right now, might stay up until midnight to sample it...

YIKES! Hope they were on sale! Jeez, you say you only eat it on reubens, then you get SIX?!?!? Making up for lost time, or this thread make you hungry? :licking::wink:

Midnite would technically be St. Patty's, so I suppose it's legal.......

Normally for me just on reubens, but the front page of the local Meijers sale flyer for this week has flat cut corned beef briskets for $1.99 a pound. Wife wants to make a bunch of them in the crock pot so....

Yes this thread made me hungry....

Got a 4 pounder cooking in the crock pot with cabbage, onions, taters, carrots, etc. Smells so good...but have to wait a few more hours till it's all tender.

Whoever invented the crock pot did us househusbands a big favor, since the wife works full time I do almost all the meal preparations...my step mom got me this book for Christmas a few years back: "Five-Ingredient Slow Cooker Recipes". Sure have had some great meals from it.
