I am once again looking at log splitters in the 25-ton range. The few I'm looking at come with the engines mentioned in the title. I'm sure the exact engine models would help, but I don't have that info.

Are Briggs engines still okay??? I've read some things over the few years that make me question that choice. Then again, I've read things about Kohler too...

I'm looking at 10 - 20 hours per year of use at most.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

I prefer Kohler if I had a choice. Clean fuel and keeping the oil changed are the life of any small engine.
