Briggs 17.5 turns 3/4 and stops????

Took engine apart don't see anything broken. Turns fine but when i put sub back on it . Turn it it locks up. Turn it the other way locks up on the 3/4??? I believe its it the counter Weight any Idea.

Hydro-locked with fuel maybe?

Pull the plug. Crank over the engine. See if fuel dumps out the plug hole.

this on a rebuild i believe it the oil slink.. with out it turns fine

If not valve adjustment time.

What condition is the engine in right now
Together & in the mower or apart and on your bench ?
Did it rotate a full turn with the sump off ?

engine on bench no internal parts broken. if i reassemble with out oil slinger turns fine.
