Have a brand new Husqvarna 125b, The mixture screws seem to have a different spline from the older Zama types carbs. My older spline tool won't fit the new 125. Any advice?

Brand new under warranty, take it to the dealer and have them adjust it. Plan B, buy a set of 10 and do it yourself.

Thank you for the reply. I do have a set of ten+ which uses the older 21 spline tool which doesn't work on this new carb change. I have a farm and can't run to the dealer every time a piece of equipment needs some attention, especially minor adjustments. Contacted Stens and they reached out to their current tool manufacture, it will be a couple of months before the new kits come back into Sten's stock, which they are unsure if the new tools will be included for this kit. Evidently the new mixture screws are a change to a 22 or 23 spline count and not sure if all new Husky's 125B will have this new carb. Rumor is they are sourcing different carbs of various quality. Used to be they standardized on one Zama C1Q variation. Now they are sourcing different carbs....Why change a good thing right???? Always like to be prepared before I have a problem.......

Considering what have been going on with Husqvarna the last year I am surprised it even got a carb. I currently got parts that been on back order for over three months now and this is the off season.

It seems that we are on a fast track for a throw away society or one that doesn't know what good and durable business is. I have to give credit to Sten's, at least they researched the subject, called me back and spoke English to boot....

Steve. It does seem that the after market companies are more in tune than the OEMs. Or at least they have the parts they are selling in stock most times. Many OEMs are more in tune of keeping their stock holders happy. They really care of the consumer after the sale anymore; otherwords, it all about what we get out of you today. So what you get a piece crap that not repairable, just buy another one from us.

I was taught to keep things repaired and keep them out of the land fills. Besides repairable durable equipment makes customer more out to make more purchases from the same company and to recommend them to friends.

It is like Homelite going down the tubes. They are now having to disguise their equipment with other trade names as customers have been burn so much that they are avoiding anything with the Homelite name on it. BTW Hart and Blackmax are Homelite in drag.

As for the current problem you have come across it will take some us actually putting our hands on that carb to see if we can see what they did to us. That carb may not even be a Zama but one those clones.

But here is some news as there is a 22-Tooth Splined tool and there is also 20-Tooth. It just not released to none dealers. Otherwords screw you independent shops.

Husqvarna PN 598846901 is the 20 tooth 5mm version.

So far I have only found the 22 tooth splined carburetor adjustment tool in reference to Walbro carbs. It is probably also a 5 mm version.

One option is to use some soft copper tubing and lightly tap it on the screws. You could also try the PacMan version since it is a single spline tool.

We have been a throw away society for many years now.

Sad but True!
Update: It seems as if the Husqvarna part number is 530035560 (adjusting tool) for their newer RUIxING carbs. Ethan at Sawzilla (888.417.6099) verified this for me and ordered me one. He said they are selling these in large numbers, shipping as far as Canada in bulk. He said the caller before me ordered 25 of them. Hopefully this will solve this little but stupid problem and help others scratching their head like me.
If it is the fix, I'll update everyone when the part comes in...

I am surprised he can even order that many. I just tried to order one from my Poulan\Husqvarna parts distributor and got the notice can only be drop shipped from Husqvarna with a max of 2 per order per year.

It also appears that is the same part number they have always used which is the 21 spline tool.

It would be sad if they had a production change and did not supersede the old stock number for the tool....They superseded the carb numbers....
I haven't got one yet....things can go wrong all the way up to the ah-ha moment.....
