I would make one and put it on but i have no way to test it! theres no grass to mow!

Yeah I know! I actually might have 1-3 more to do this weekend or something. It has been a below-average (temperature) November, but warmer than usual in December!

It got up to 69 degrees yesterday, and 68 the day before. This week it will be in the upper 40's or lower 50's, but kind of unsettled as we go into next week. :frown: It gets colder as we go into next week, though. You could always just attach it to your mower and go around the yard seeing if it bounces or not, because if it is heavy enough it will probably stripe!

If used oil from an automobile was good enough for the last few miles in the vehicle, it is certinally capable of lubricating a chain and bar:thumbsup:
However, I don't use a lot of bar oil so I buy the cheapest I can find.
Remember ----- bar oil will "stick" to the chain and bar much better then regular oil.

Never use old engine oil on a bar and chain.
Not that it wont lubricate but because of Carcinogen - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
Also better using vegetable oil.
Use deep fat frier oil. Take out all the food bits and you have perfect bar and chain oil.

Around here used fryer oil is in demand. All the bio diesels snatch it up

What kind of bar oil do you guys use? I use lumberjacks bar oil that i got from my dad but i dont think they make it anymore. I have heard of people using old oil from a car when you drain it out from an oil change but i dont really want to run that in my saw unless its really needed. thanks in advance.

It is called save a chain bar oil very good almost better then sthil oil and run through well :thumbsup::cool2::cool2::cool2:

I bought a gallon of Wal-mart oil this week for less than $9. It works fine.
