I have a 2021 bad boy 54” fr730v engine and the clutch bolt loosens falls out breaks the 5 1/2” bolt that keeps the clutch from spinning. I hate already reinstalled the bolt with blue lock tight but that didn’t seem to hold after 1 hr bolt
Fell out again.
Any ideas to keep bolt and washer from
Coming loose?

If it came to me with this problem I would do the following. First, purchase a new bolt. Second, run a tap in the hole to clean the threads. Third, install the new bolt dry, torque properly.

I run them in with an Impact

Get a new 7/16-20x1.5” grade 8 bolt.
You might need a 7/16-20 bottoming tap to chase the shaft threads.
Torque new bolt to 52 ft.lb.

Clutches have few different set ups to stop the bolt backing out
Some use a split washer and others use a cupped washer
Very common to find the cupped washer on up side down
IT has to go dome to the bolt head so you are flattening it as you tighten
Also they do go flat over time & need replacing .
The crank gets too hot for anything other than red loktite to work .

As many times as that bolt has worked out, it’s a good possibility that the washer was lost.

And probably the spacer as well

All,
When the local badboy dealer opens Monday I will get a new bolt and washer with some fresh locktite and use my impact to install. Then verify the torque is to specs.

Will give update to results. Appreciate all the reply’s!
