Bad Boy cold start won't happen unless you give it a squirt ether.

Bad Boy MZ Magnum purchased 2013 with B & S 27hp engine has never started readily from cold start after the first season; it's as if the choke just doesn't function. Last two years I've had to resort to ether to start engine. As long as engine is warm, maybe i hour after a stop, it will start back up. Longer then two hours after mowing, and it's difficult to start. Should I break down and replace choke?

You are probably right , the choke is not closing fully.
loosen the choke cable clamp pull the choke on then pull the cable back hard and clamp it tight
