B&S engine bolt patterns

I have 2 B&S push lawn mowers( one a bolens and one a poulan pro),,one engine is shot,and the other has a good deck..would it be possible to just swap over the engine..and would the bolt patters be the same?
the one engine model is 10T802 (550 series) and the other is 10T502 (500 series).
If it is possible i assume its just the bolts under the deck that are holding it in place.
Sorry if this is a silly question but id rather ask first than go ahead and do it and somehow mess it up

Yes you can just swap the engine

(( racing is the only sport that you need two balls ))

Just why can't you drill new holes in the frame if they don't match. You will have to take some shaft size measurement's.

Thanks for the info...ill be swapping the engine over on the weekend..the deck its going on has adjustable height wheels :smile:

Engine mounting bolts should line up ok, but you might check the crankshaft length. Thats usually the difference from one mower to another. Just measure from bottom of engine to the end of the crankshaft. Hope it works out for you.
