This little critter won't start. Engine has compression fuel and spark. Will not start with starting fluid. What the heck? Kill switch?

IF it won't spark with a SHORT SHOT of starter fluid then either the valve timing is off or the ignition timing is off.
The caveat is ou can flood an engine on starting fluid just as easy as you can on fuel .

If you have spark it's not a killer switcher.
Bet a wooden nickel a dirty carb slash fuel delivery issue is to be found.

Will do. Thanks for the tip. To my knowledge the owner did not hit anything with the mower.

Have cleaned carb this afternoon. It was dirty. Blew out what I could and cleaned the filter. Diaphragm appears weak look for a replacement tomorrow.
