What software do you use or recommend for time tracking and billing -- that is affordable? Thanks!

Excel is really too much of a hassle for billing and it is hard to keep everything organized. Looking for suggestions on inexpensive software that can get rid of the headache of spreadsheets for time/expense tracking and invoicing

Quick books is good but the wife said she prefers the Microsoft Excel, It's really not a hassle for billing. We do a lot of our billing by Email, it saves money, stamps, envelopes and time and people prefer it to a bill in the mail.

The problem you have with software is that everyone has something or some program that works best for them. What works for one may not work well for someone else or by the time you get it somebody has an updated version. When you do decide what to use make sure you get something that you get updates on so you stay currant.

You are looking for software... not excel so here are some software recommendations that are definitely a lot easier to use than excel.
1) replicon - great time tracking, and makes billing easier but the problem is, it has a lot of add-ons to actually get the job done and it ends up being VERY VERY expensive
2) nutcache - Has a free option, which is cool, but the free option has absolutely nothing you are looking for and charges transaction fees
3) harvest - Price isn't too bad, and a lot of people love it, but the functionality really isn't that great
4) accountsight - Best price, and has a lot of notification features, this could be the best option but you'd have to see if it has what you are looking for.

Hope that helps!!!! Good luck with your business.
