Excel is really too much of a hassle for billing and it is hard to keep everything organized. Looking for suggestions on inexpensive software that can get rid of the headache of spreadsheets for time/expense tracking and invoicing

Quick books is good but the wife said she prefers the Microsoft Excel, It's really not a hassle for billing. We do a lot of our billing by Email, it saves money, stamps, envelopes and time and people prefer it to a bill in the mail.

The problem you have with software is that everyone has something or some program that works best for them. What works for one may not work well for someone else or by the time you get it somebody has an updated version. When you do decide what to use make sure you get something that you get updates on so you stay currant.

You are looking for software... not excel so here are some software recommendations that are definitely a lot easier to use than excel.
1) replicon - great time tracking, and makes billing easier but the problem is, it has a lot of add-ons to actually get the job done and it ends up being VERY VERY expensive
2) nutcache - Has a free option, which is cool, but the free option has absolutely nothing you are looking for and charges transaction fees
3) harvest - Price isn't too bad, and a lot of people love it, but the functionality really isn't that great
4) accountsight - Best price, and has a lot of notification features, this could be the best option but you'd have to see if it has what you are looking for.

Hope that helps!!!! Good luck with your business.

We do prefer using the cloud based time tracking software and applications from Replicon. The reason behind using this tool is its hassle free, featured with the user friendly and calendar based interface that makes it an intuitive tool to work with and manage the things in a better way. Also there is a different module for billing and invoicing as well which makes a great difference in the whole segment. Check out here for more information ( Web Timesheet Software | Timesheet Management Software | Online Timesheet System | Replicon ).

All my files are typed myself. I even typed my own invoice format. My business cards are the only thing done online, which would be on vistaprint.

Whenever my internet decides to be down, I don't have to worry about being behind on paperwork. Everything is saved on my computer via Microsoft Word/Excel.

@walkssophia ... seems like you know a lot about replicon. replicon's modules are really expensive, beginning at $22/month, and with additional modules to add on it could end up costing a LOT. Thank you @lawnbusiness66 -> those suggestions really helped. Seems like accountsight might have it all (free trial will help make that clearer) and the price is a lot more doable. Appreciate the excel ideas, but not really interested in that direction anymore.

Invoice to go on my IPad and IPhone is the best thing I ever tried. Used it over a year with great results.
