Do any of you use Facebook to get work? I started up my business in August of 2012. Starting up that late in the year I exceeded what I expected to do as far as getting work. I estimate that I got 90% of the work I did from utilizing Facebook to get the message out. I would be interested to know if any more of you are using that tool to get work.

I don't have Facebook but I found that people telling their friends is very effective and that's where I get about 80% of my business

Advertising is a difficult one.
Iv done the flyers, local radio and newspaper ads and still people come to me and say they didnt realise what we do.
Started doing FB this year and is now adverstising in another niche market.
Got inolved with local area sales and wants groups and post a document on the services and sales we do once a day and i have had decent results.
Next is google ad campaign.

I don't use FB for marketing. Since I mow mostly in my neighborhood (for right now), I have found detailed flyers are the best. As well as yard signs. If a customer gets two flyers they will pick the most professional looking one, so that hopefully is yours!

My little part time repair business I can't advertise so it is 100% word of mouth. The government will want their cut otherwise. cash only, no repair bills, buy my parts retail. Down the road from me another person tryed to run a small repair business the same way but he put some mowers out in his front yard for sale and a sign for repairs. He soon found out that he was being watched and had to close by order of the town. They say this is a free country but don't let some older retired person try to get a little extra spending money by running a small business that isn't hurting anybody.

If you have not figured it out we have been a Socialist Society in many ways for years. The "sheeple" just are so concerned with the next gimmick to come along that they have not realized it and for the most part don't seem to care.

Facebook is good way to drive people to your website. In the site you should utilize acculawnsystems.com to give instant online quotes. The property owner gets a quote and is able to sign up for services right on you site. You receive an email that a new customer has signed up and then make contact with them. It's easy and affordable. Check out Acculawnsystems.com
