I have a Honda H1011S mower. My question is:

How do I adjust the neutral position on the shift lever? The shift lever is out of adjustment. When you put the mower in neutral, unless you pull the lever over like you are going into reverse, the mower is still in 1st. And by the time you place the selector in 4th you're actually in 5th.

The shop manual is a little weak on this section, but looking at the parts catalog, you'll see the slots in part #9, and a plate (#10) appears to offer some adjustment. Probably make sure the transmission is in NEUTRAL, loosen the two nuts (#16), and move plate (#10) or #9 to position the shift lever so it is in the NEUTRAL slot in the body opening. Just a guess...
