Well, I've got Lawnboys of just about all vintages, but for some reason, I really like the Bricktop and other D-engine mowers. I have several, and mow with them, and I have not found the carbs used on the various D-engine mowers to be a problem. I suppose perhaps this is because I grew up with them. The first gas-powered mower my dad bought was a Bronze colored Bricktop lawnboy from the late 1950's, and subsequently I had a cream colored D-engine mower during the 1970's, and I just plain like them. (They're long gone, so I can't tell you model numbers) I certainly have no problem maintaining the mechanical governor and the points and condenser type of ignition.
