5 Terminal B&S ignition switch

Hi All , B&S Vangard 16 HP , switch has R B S A I. What I used R from rectifier, B battery , S start, and A for accessories, not sure what the I terminal would be for, motor has a magneto ignition, does this switch short out internally to kill the motor? I haven’t started it yet , only turned it over,

That switch will energise a relay to start / stop the engine
The actual switch used depends upon the equipment wiring , not the engine
the engine just needs power to keep the fuel solenoid open to stay running and a means of grounding the magnetos to stop it
So please come back with the make & model of whatever the engine is attatched to .

That’s not for a Vanguard engine??
