4hp briggs carb problem

well i dont feel to bad. im going to be into it for all of $70.00. $60.00 for the tiller and $10.00 for the parts.i tried it out today. what a machine, and easy to use. walked behind it only holding it with one hand, it does all the work. i have my old MTD up for sale.

another question. the little spring in the picture was connected to the elongated slot on the throttle when i got it but couldnt understand why it would be on that side, that would hold the throttle open, so i drilled a hole, well two holes, one i found out i could use, on the other side so it would pull the throttle closed. is it suppose to be on the other side to hold the throttle open for when starting.

Great info. on the carb. assembly. I need to get into mine on a 5hp B&S. It fires right up, but the throttle can't be moved or it will die.
This the best I've seen on the dis-assembly and cleaning.
