Bought a Yahama Grizzly 350 4 wheeler a few days ago for $200. Needs switch and a battery, air filter, spark plug, and it won't go in reverse. Appears to be the cable that runs from the brake pedal to the shifter not free. Racks are on it. Plastic is all there but faded. Seat is torn. Reckon I got a deal?

Yes I rode it. It runs fine. Easy to start when jumped off. Will start from pull rope as we'll but takes a lot for me to pull.

I own two ATVs and work on them in my shop. I think the cable you are talking about wouldn't let it go in gear unless the brakes are on. This is so as you are going like a bat out of hell down the trail you can't put the machine in reverse without stopping first.

The last of the big spenders. Just what do you think you will get for 2 grand. Something well used? That would be like buying a commercial 61 inch ZTR for two grand. They are out there but far and few between. You and everybody else are looking for a 500CC+ ATV's so that brings the prices up. The 300's are starter bikes. The OP got his for 200 dollars but I will bet there is more to the story or he was very lucky.

Around here you can get used ATVs cheap all day. I got my kids a 250cc for $100 because they could not get any spark after spending $200 in parts they did not need.
$20 for a CDI box and runs like new.

was it a china bike? the cdi boxes go in them all the time. working on a buddys chinese pitbike right now and thats what it needs.

Yeah it is. Parts for them are cheap. I got a performance CDI box same one as in a honda for 20 bucks. No rev limiter.

yep. they arnt bad since the parts are so cheap. i'm getting a new cdi box tonight and its like 15bucks all together.
