Carscw, thanks I needed the hope. motoman

Well I changed the other head gasket. Again no obvious problem. The good news is the engine started and ran well. How ever I did the loose oil dip stick and it was dancing around a lot. I also found a lot of oil out side the breather tube assembly. I will replace that assembly later this week. Any thoughts?

I would run the unit for at least 30 minutes at half throttle before changing anymore parts. The oil you see may be residual still in the breather assembly. Some dancing of the dipstick is to be emxpexted, is it less than before? Don't take this wrong, but are you sure that both heads were torqued properly and all valve clearances were reset?

No offense taken, 0.004 on the valves and 18 ftlbs on the head bolts. Or at least as close as my pittsburg torque wrench can get. The oil is outside the breather on the block and fins. I will cut some grass tonight and measure oil loss. I will post results.
