Buying Advice 23 hp Kawasaki V-Twin vs. 24.5 hp Toro V-Twin

Are there any recommendations between the Kawasaki V-Twin and the newer Toro V-Twin with the self cleaning air box? I'm looking at a 50" deck. Pros and cons of each? Personal experience? Thanks in advance!
 
It looks like the Toro engine is new. I have found through the years of doing maintenance work to avoid anything new like that a few years till they work all the bugs out of it. The manufactures seem to use the consumer as Ginny pigs to try out new products.
