Did you clean the jet while you had the bowl off? Grab a tooth pick and make sure it's open if you didn't.

If that doesn't work, check to see if you have water in the fuel.

Thanks for the reply Jeff . i believe the jet is the screw that holds the bowl to the carb ? yes i sprayed it with carb cleaner and also blew it out with my blow gun. i also checked the flow of fuel to the carb from the tank and found that it was very slow with the gas cap tightened as tight as i had it so with the gas cap not as tight the flow is good.I also drained the tank and found nothing but clean gas. Problem is better but still will not stay running .

Sounds like the vent on the gas cap is clogged

Take the bottom nut off of the carb again, then pour in some fresh fuel and hold a can under the carb, let it dribble for a while, look in the can for water, which you likely will find. Reassemble, start the engine, and if it starts dying, engage the choke to keep it running, do this for a while.

If you need more detail about going into the carb, you will have to post the engine's model, type, code numbers.

Seeing it starts I would say a fuel problem. First thing would be make sure you have a good fuel flow to the carburetor. It looks like you have cleaned the carburetor so I would say replace the needle valve to the float. Maybe invest in a carburetor repair kit.

Try checking air flow. With wood flying around a piece of wood might be restricting air flow. I'd take your air gun and blow around the motor to clean it up. If it has a fuel filter you might try changing that.
