I have a Sears YTV 16 tractor that had sat for 10 years before I bought it.
I was told it was running then parked, but the deck was missing. It was used
to drag a chain link fence around.
I replaced the ignition switch, the battery, front tires, rebuilt the carb. and cleaned the fuel system.
I got it to run but not well. I found one cylinder cold to the touch even though it had spark.
After a tear down I found a broken rod (see Pic) that may have been caused by a rats
nest over that cylinder. At 656cc and 16Hp, it should be a real strong engine.
Some parts are available, but I find it is hard to match the crankshaft to the block which
is not in bad condition.
Should I rebuild it or part it out?
Does any one have a YTV 16 varidrive?
I think was only made one year.
