    Transmission has little power

I also noticed the belt guard was in the wrong hole. There are two holes close together on the frame and last time I took off the deck I must have put it back in the wrong hole (I had to chuckle after writing that) I looked at the parts diagram and stuck it in the hole it showed on the chart...

    Transmission has little power

Great news folks, hallelujah I think I got it fixed! I put the MTD OEM exact fit on the top and it will pull any hill in any gear now. So now that I got that fixed i noticed another problem crop up. The deck is making a funny noise and smoking. I noticed the stabilizer bar is not fully down in...

    Transmission has little power

I can't remember if the bottom belt is factory or not. I got them from Lowes many years ago so they should have been. I ordered an exact fit MTD OEM top belt and will put it on and see what happens. If that don't work I'll go with the OEM bottom belt. Then if that still don't fix it I'm out of...

    Transmission has little power

I'm thinking that's it too. I should have got the factory right from the start. Lesson learned!

    Transmission has little power

Also does anyone know what size what main pulley nut is? I forgot to even look when I tightened it back up with my deep well impact.. I'm going to try and get a shorter socket to fit under that cross bar if I have to replace that belt.

    Transmission has little power

Well I tightened the pulley nut with the impact and reinstalled with a new upper belt. The old one was pretty worn out looking. The lower belt was in good shape so I didn't replace it. The variator moves freely up and down. I noticed the new belt looks just a tad bit bigger in diameter. I also...

    Transmission has little power

I don't understand why the thickness on them hub stars is so thin. They should be like the blade stars!

    Transmission has little power

Yea I think I'm going to just drop the tranny so I can get a good look at it.. I need to get my impact wrench on that nut. I can't get it in there mounted up because a crossbar prevents me from getting a socket on it. I stuck a screwdriver in one of them pulley holes and turned it with a...

    Transmission has little power

I found out what the problem was. That nut holding the main pulley down came loose. I tried tightening it up and it ran better but still won't pull a slope. I'm thinking that hub mount is stripped and I need another one. Any idea how I replace that? Can I do it from the top or will I have to...

    Transmission has little power

So you mean vertically straight up and down? It moves forward and backward when I depress the brake. I looked at all the pulleys and they are all moving when I engage the gears. I don't know what else it could be. It just loses momentum when I go up a slope. It don't even have to be a steep...

    Transmission has little power

I can't remember it was so long ago. I had Lowes order me the belts for it. Think it would be worth it just to change them again? When you say does the variable speed pulley move freely up and down I'm not sure what you mean.

    Transmission has little power

I have a Yardman 13.5HP 38" cut. Model 13AC762F755. The transmission doesn't have power. It will move sometimes on flat level ground but when I get to a slope it slows down and stops. If I get off, it moves again and seems normal. The belts are not that old. I replaced the original belts and the...

    Wire glue

I already ordered a new one off ebay. They not that expensive. I was watching you tube and it does look pretty straight forward as long as I don't break the bolts off. They look rusty. Thanks for all the suggestions!

    Wire glue

That's what I was afraid of. Are they easy to replace? I never done that before.

    Wire glue

I found a nice big mouse nest on my cylinder head the other day for my Briggs Intek 13.5 HP riding mower. Then I noticed it wouldn't start. So then I found they left me another nice little present by chewing my spark plug wire off right by the coil. There's not enough wire left by the coil to...

    Deck problem

I got them repositioned today. The rivets were pita to drill out. I refitted them with locknuts. Thanks for all the help!

Would it be possible to use little bolts, nuts, and washers instead of rivets to remount them?

    Deck problem

My friend recently gave me his Yardman 13.5 H/P 38" mower to sell. I noticed the deck wasn't cutting right. He said he recently bought new spindles/mandrels for it and said it wasn't mowing right after that. I think I found the problem but don't know how to fix it. Them brake like things are...

    Engine rotation

Not really. It has more compression counterclockwise I noticed. Not sure about the serial but it's a 5118R. I put my electric Dewalt set CCW and it kept spinning the chuck off. My 18volt Black and Decker isn't strong enough to turn it fast enough. Don't know what I'm going to do. It's a shame...

    Engine rotation

I have a Remington Rodeo 2-stroke chainsaw. I'm assuming it has a B/S engine. My problem is the starter broke and I read they discontinued the part. The only way I can think to start it is with a drill on the crank nut. Which way do I set it? Clockwise or counterclockwise?

Does coating the underside of deck really work?

After about every mowing I scrape and brush off the clumped on grass and paint brush some used motor oil on and have not rusted out a deck yet and it's cheap!

    Grease Fittings

Can someone tell me if this mower has grease fittings anywhere? I can't find them on the deck or wheels. Murray Model 13BC77LF058.

    Factory Grease

Well the new spindles are a little higher than the old ones and the brake fits too low now. Any way to adjust them? I see a couple holes higher on the bracket but how do you get the pad off? Looks like rivets are holding it in. Also I put the engage spring in the wrong way and can't get it back...

I just ordered a couple new spindle assemblies for my Yardman mower deck. Are these already greased from the factory or do you have to add grease to them?

    Cutting problems

Pretty sure it was always seated properly. Nuts coming loose I'm not sure. I do remember about 5 years ago the deck was shaking violently and I didn't know why. I finally found out the belt had a chunk out of it. I replaced it with a new one. Would this have caused it? Also would the belt be...

    Cutting issues

I have a 2007 Yardman 38" cut. I notice it won't cut right on one side. I noticed one of the star spindels for the blade mount is worn down to almost nothing. Could this cause it and could I find a part for it?

    Transmission slipping

Hello everyone! I just got signed up. The problem I am having is my Transmission is slipping. It only slips when going down a grade. Makes a funny whirring noise when doing it. Is this the drive belt or inside the differential gearbox ? I have a Murray 13.5 H/P 38 Inch deck. The tractor is two...
