Lol, I hear you and I usually take pictures of everything before hand, but it looked so simple and I said to myself "I don't need any pictures of this" lol, now look.

Hey man, finally got a chance to reroute the belt, and just wanted to show you guys before I put the deck back. It's definitely a little trickier than how easy it looks in the manual. Thanks

I took a shot at it again today and I'm really not seeing what I did wrong. The belt is not overly tight, it has some slack and everything else looks right to me, I mean all I did was take the old belt off and put a new one on, so this is definitely baffling me. I did forget to pull on both...
Maybe I did put it on the wrong side... Hopefully I'll get to it tomorrow and take a picture of it. It's such a simple belt layout, I don't see how I could screw that up. Maybe I had one too many when I did it, lol
Hey guys, I've finally got to the tranny belt and things went a lot smoother than I expected, except for just one thing. I put everything back the same way, or at least I thought I did, but when step on the brake to start the mower, it is extremely tight and the brake won't go down enough for me...
Hi guys, yes it is the transmission belt directly under the motor like you've mentioned. Is this belt a complete bitch to get to or is it just me ? So I have to remove the entire mower deck ? Thanks to both of you for your help.
Well when I looked, all of the
Belts seemed to be ok, the belt under where the battery goes came off, and I put it back. How can I tell for sure about the things you've mentioned. Thanks !
Hello everyone, I've gotten into a little problem with my Murray 405000x8c. I was cutting the grass as usual and I hit a tree root that was under the grass. So, to make a long story short, it jerked everything really good, bent the mower deck, loosened a belt and more. After I had fixed those...
I'm just seeing this message, thank you a whole lot for that. Yes, most manuals definitely assume that you're factory trained, to me that's by design and done intentionally, they make the diagrams like that too, so people like me will go crazy trying to replace linkages or springs. It's almost...
Ok, wow this will be a challenging fix for me, I'm definitely getting a buddy to help me with this one, he's no professional but knows way more than me. If I had to pay a shop to do this it would cost an arm and a leg, wouldn't be worth it. I just hope we can do it. Thank you for the clarification !
Thanks, definitely a little clearer now. I also found some videos on YouTube that might help. Btw, I'm actually one homeowner that does pull the boots back and lubes them with PB blaster (I know I should use grease, gotta get some) but I do it after every cut, or after every 2 cuts ? Thanks for...
Hi, I'm going to try what you've mentioned this week, but I wanna be sure I'm doing the right thing. With the engine running slowly I'm going to completely stop the spindle that turns to see if the self propelled lever engages ? If it does or doesn't, what's my next step ? Do I take the gear box...
Ok, hopefully I can do what you're telling me, have to pin point the parts you're talking about, I try to do everything myself, but this issue is definitely new to me
Hello everyone, I have a classic Honda hr214 push mower, that's been my trust and dependable mower for the last 25 years.
Anyway, to make a long story short the self propel and the stop engage stopped working at the same time. The stop lever is not a big deal cause I just shut it off manually...
hello everyone, I have the lx1842 and the pto was never engaging, so I figured to buy a new belt. After I installed it, the pto did engage and I was finally able to cut the grass for a couple of days. Then to make a long story short, the belt had gotten loose, and I was no longer able to cut the...
Of course, one good gesture deserves another. BTW, did you happen to see the last two pictures I posted about another spring that's Missing that I can't seem to find in any diagrams. Thank you
Hello everyone, I have the Troy Bilt ltx 1842, and I have to replace the upper drive belt (60") but I have yet to find a clear diagram or pictures that will help me take the guessing out of replacing this belt. If anyone has anything that can help me do this it would make things a lot easier for...
Hi Rivets, I wanted to let you know that I finally figured out where the governor control spring goes, and I feel like kicking myself, because it's so easy, when you know the locations of parts, otherwise it can be a real pain. I posted a couple of pictures to show you. But after I installed...
Hi Rivets, I'm looking at the diagram and trying, but I'm not going to know from that because it's very small , it's not clear to me without a good picture. I know doing this is not the most complicated thing in the world, but I'm just not getting it. Thank you for trying to help me out.
Hi Rivets, here are the engine numbers you asked for : 21B807 0239E1 040329ZA
I didn't get a chance to try the other things you mentioned, but I will tomorrow. Thank you for your help.
hello everyone, I'm still having a problem trying to find out where the governor control spring attaches to. Another user on this site has tried to point me in the right direction by explaining it to me, but I'm still not getting it. Would there be anyone who can possibly use a pointer and...
Hi, I'm not totally sure what you mean, I'm pretty new with linkages and springs on mowers, so I'm trying too teach myself, but I can't seem to find specific details on how it should be. Sorry for my inexperience. Thanks
Hello everyone, does anyone have the MTD11A-544E29 ? I'm trying to fix this mower so I have a spare push mower, got everything going except the governor link and springs. Would anyone have a picture they could post, to show me how they go ? In the manuals for this and others that I have...
Hello everyone, I have the Troy Bilt lxt1842 that I'm fixing up for the season, so I'm replacing the blades, and I need to know what size socket for the nut that holds the blades in place. Tried searching it myself but everything I found wasn't specific. Thanks
hi StarTech, I was wondering if you ever took a look at where I put the spring, I think it's right, but unfortunately, I can't start it up yet to find out, because I have to get a new battery. thanks
Hey guys, I finally got to the spring today, but I only see one hole in the black plastic swivel for the spring to connect to, I know this is really simple but I'm not seeing where it goes to, unless I have something else hooked up wrong. I took a side pic and a top view pic so you can see. Thanks
hi, thanks for your reply, I have the diagram, but where it goes to is so small, I just can't make it out on the diagram. I'm also going to take a picture of my machine, maybe to make it a little easier, it wasn't riding right last season because of this, was driving me completely crazy. I had...
hello everyone , I have and old 2004 Murray 405000x8c with a briggs and stratton engine Model 21B807 0239E1. I went to start it yesterday and, upon it wouldn't start so i started troubleshooting around the carburetor area and saw that the governor cable was broke, so not a big deal i ordered...

I'm just worried if I buy that whole wheel, the other part won't be included (the pin separately, or with the comma shaped wing gear) btw,im usually decent with parts, but these are so small and precise, and not being able to find the correct part names makes it way more difficult to explain...
